NCLS - Temporary Visas

There are a number of temporary types of visas available to non-immigrants. As a general rule these visas require that the applicant has permanent residence in the home country which she/he has no intention of abandoning, that the person enters the U.S. for a temporary period. These visas may be obtained from abroad or if a person is already in the U.S. in lawful status he/she may apply for an extension of stay and change of status in the U.S.
