Full-time position (1 position available) 

Location: Vienna, VA 


  • Conduct and analyze legal research data such as legal articles, codes and documents on variety of issues in order to support a legal proceeding, to formulate a defense, or to initiate a legal action;  

  • Communicate with clients and professionals to discuss details of cases and assist clients with correspondence, contracts, immigration forms, translations and legal documents; 

  • Collect and analyze all pertinent information related to assigned cases to report to an attorney on the nature of the case and help him in identifying the case strategy; 

  • Summarize, identify and review legal documents to support the case; assemble, file and coordinate filing of applications and petitions;  

  • Prepare correspondence and all relevant case materials for the record, final documents for file closing; 

  • Prepare non-immigrant visa petitions, family and employment-based petitions; 

  • Assist company's lawyer in preparation of legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, legal arguments, motions and other matters to be filed with the court or provided to a client, and assist attorney during hearings, trials, and corporate meetings; 

  • Communicate with the opposing parties and witnesses, arbitrate disputes between parties and assist in civil processes and serve court documents to opposing counsel; 

  • Perform general bookkeeping and prepare monthly written reports that National Capital Legal Services' president use in determining how cases are handled; 

  • Function as a liaison between the attorney, the client, and the various governmental agencies such as, USCIS, ICE, DOL, NVC, Department of Assessment and Taxation, U.S. Consulates overseas, and other agencies. 


Qualification Requirements:  

Proven knowledge and expertise in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel), Outlook, and immigration software (INSZoom- Electronic Case Filing Software). 

  Required experience/education: 

At least 6 months of proven experience in Paralegal, Legal Assistant, Legal Intern and other related. 

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Legal Studies and all related.

The Immigration Paralegal will be a member of our top qualified professionals in Immigration Practice. The Immigration Paralegal will be responsible for working on a variety of cases including: L-1A, H-1B, EB-1, PERM, I-140, I-485. Must have at least 2 years of experience in handling immigration cases.
